Other Types of Visa
Australia provides permanent visa options for aged dependent relatives, carers, and remaining relatives of settled Australian citizens, permanent residents, former residents, or eligible New Zealand citizens. With a limited number of “Other Family” visa places available each Migration Program year, no further visas are granted once the cap is reached. Due to high demand exceeding the available places, processing times for these visas can be lengthy.
The Aged Dependent Relative Visa (Subclass 114) is for individuals aged 65 or older who are financially dependent on an Australian relative. It grants permanent residency, subject to an eligible sponsor, health and character requirements, and annual cap limitations.
The Aged Dependent Relative Visa (Subclass 838) allows elderly individuals aged 65 or older (depending on their country) who rely on an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen for financial support to live permanently in Australia.
The Subclass 836 Carer Visa is a permanent visa that allows individuals to live in Australia to care for a relative with a long-term or permanent medical condition, or to assist a relative providing such care.
The Subclass 116 Carer Visa is a permanent visa that allows individuals to move to Australia to provide care for a relative with a long-term or permanent medical condition.
The Subclass 461 visa is a temporary visa for non-New Zealand citizens who are members of the family unit of a New Zealand citizen. It allows the holder to live, work, and study in Australia for up to 5 years.
The Remaining Relative visa (subclass 115) is a permanent visa that allows individuals outside Australia to live in Australia as permanent residents, provided their only near relatives are Australian citizens, permanent residents, or eligible New Zealand citizens.
The Remaining Relative visa (subclass 835) is a permanent visa that allows individuals in Australia to live as permanent residents if their only near relatives are Australian citizens, permanent residents, or eligible New Zealand citizens.
